Barbara Johnson was appointed to the Clark County Superior Court in 1987, and served 28 years until her retirement in March 2015. Judge Johnson served as vice-president and trustee of the Clark County Bar Association., and was president of the State Board of Directors of Washington Women Lawyers in 1983. During her judicial career, Judge Johnson was on faculty of the Washington State Judicial College and served as chair of the board of directors of the Clark College Foundation. In 2006, she was named Judge of the Year by the Washington State Trial Lawyers Assoc. in 2006, and also received the Vocational Service Award by Vancouver Rotary. Today, Judge Johnson is applying her experience to alternative dispute resolution through mediation and arbitration. She enjoys gardening, fitness, travel and reading.
