H-RoC Announces Endorsement of Glover for Vancouver City Council and Bocanegra for Evergreen School District
Vancouver, WA: H-RoC is pleased to announce the following additional endorsements of women running for local, non-partisan elected positions in Clark County.

Linda Glover, Vancouver City Council, Position 3
Linda Glover was an elementary teacher and principal in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In 1995, she moved west to Vancouver to be close to their daughter and three grandchildren. She became involved with the Holiday Shop which has evolved into Gifts For Our Community. As its Executive Director she has led the organization from the first three month holiday gift store to the current Divine Consign store and a number of companion projects located on Main Street. She currently serves as President on the board of Vancouver’s Downtown Association and has been an involved member for 12 years as they have worked to revitalize downtown.
Glover currently serves on the Fort Vancouver National Trust Board, City of Vancouver CRT, Steering Committee for Bridgeview Center, and the Learning Avenues Child Care Centers Board. Glover is a member of Friends of Hospice, H-Roc, Empowering Women and the Clark County Chamber of Commerce.
Julie Bocanegra, Evergreen School Board Director, Position 1
Julie Bocanegra is a lifelong Clark County resident. Bocanegra lives, works and volunteers within the boundaries of Evergreen Public Schools. Appointed to the Evergreen School Board of Directors in 2012, and elected in 2013, Bocanegra is committed to serving students, families and educators in our community. With more than 20 years of management experience, Bocanegra works at a prominent local credit union. Community involvement is important to Bocanegra, as she has dedicated her time serving on local organizations including Evergreen School District Foundation, Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce, and Evergreen Little League.
H-RoC endorsements are based upon the following criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building abilities
- Elect-ability in their district
- Record of supporting or demonstrated understanding of economic development principles and impact of public policy decisions
- History of active participation in the community
- Position specific: knowledge and experience in position field, professional network established
Established in 2011, H-RoC is an independent, non-partisan political action committee specifically created to help support women in elected, appointed office and community leadership positions. H-RoC is an acronym for the Hand that Rocks the Cradle Rules the World, a poem written by William Ross Wallace. The poem pays tribute to the strength of women in society. H-RoC is committed to the advancement of women into leadership positions in Southwest Washington.
